fishing

Last night we had the best trout. I had no idea fish could taste so yummy. Kevin, clad in his wool pants, suspenders and rabbit fur hat, headed to the lake yesterday to "catch us some dinner". Really he wanted to hang out in the sunshine, get a racoon tan - from the sunglases - and relax on the lake. Miners Lake is about 1/2 mile hike from our front door, so he hauls all of his gear in a sled and goes out for a few hours. He was supposed to be working on his sculpture... but yesterday is was 40 degrees and sun shiny. According to him he slaughtered the fish.

The sculpture is top priority right now. He has to have 3 silver flowers implanted in rock complete by Tuesday for theEly ArtWalk . Tuesday! I think he works best under pressure. The ArtWalk is part of the Voyageur Winter Festival - you know the giant snow sculputres in the park? His sculpture is going to be displayed the Kess Gallery window (not the park since his flowers are not even close to 8 foot by 8 foot). Before he went fishing, he had an orchid almost done (needed a good polish), a daisy almost done (needed to be mounted in its rock) and the flower below was an idea. An idea. I would have has a stress headache, but he goes fishing. But is paid off. The daisy is mounted, the new flower is almost done and he needs to wait to polish (so everything is sparkly for the display). Damn him.
