So, we got a bunch of snow during the last few weeks of December. A bunch. One day we did not have enough to cover the grass and the next day we had 2 feet. Kevin and I decided to take advantage of the groomed x-country ski trail across the street from our house. Neither of us are expert skiers. Or even intermediate skiers. But our friends Emilie and Mikael are coming up very soon and they like to ski and they ski very well and for long distances and up mountains. All for fun. We had to get out at least once to make sure we still knew how to clip our boots into our bindings.
We had a beautiful day for skiing. It was the Winter Solstice and we just had fresh snow. A big "Thank You!" to the folks that keep the Trezona Trail groomed in the winter - great job! The trail was groomed days before our street was plowed out.
We managed to ski about 2 miles without major incident. No broken bones or screaming trips down hills. We had a real nice time. I still don't think we are ready for Emilie and Mikael, but at least we know our skis still work!
